Introducing Melissa Horton: The New Owner and Writer for Far Above Rubies

It has been a privilege writing for Far Above Rubies, and I want to thank you for allowing me into your homes for the last two years.

I believe I wasted several months trying to stay on when I knew God was calling me out, but God has been faithful to give me the needed push forward.

The decision to sell FAR came after a dream I had a month or so ago. The dream was about fear; specifically the fear of moving on. Hurting over what use to be, I've been stuck in fear, disappointment, and confusion. My journey is moving into new territory with strangers whom I can't seem to embrace with the same readiness and abandonment that came so easily to me once.

I will write about my journey in a different forum as I believe you, beloved friends, deserve more from Far Above Rubies.

With that being said, I'd like to introduce to you the new writer and owner of Far Above Rubies. Please make her feel welcome.

Melissa Horton is a follower of Christ and loves to read her Bible. She has been married for 14 years, after marrying her high school sweetheart at the young age of 21, and is a homeschooling mom of three.

Her passions are leading women’s Bible studies in her home, helping young women better themselves in the work of their homes, and helping homeschooling moms get connected.

In her spare time, she likes to research homeschooling curriculum and read great books. She has been leading women’s Bible studies for five years and has also been helping moms get their babies off to a good start with good sleeping habits (or helping with the challenges) through Whispers - Gentle Infant Sleep Training.

Melissa's calling is to love her husband, love her children, develop her character according to His Word, and to manage her home well...all while helping other women to do the same!

Wow, I've been struggling even in my own mind to put into words my own feelings about my life right now. This nails it. I feel torn between the past and all it's familiarity and the future where I feel God leading. God bless you in your journey .
    Welcome, Melissa Dawn! :)

  4. I look forward to hearing what you have to write. It is a big challenge you are taking on to write daily. I will put it into my focus to visit here often. I actually inquired if I could be the one to write here, but it was not to be. I can see that she made a good choice in you. I hope that you will find joy in writing here. I also write about the things of the heart. It is such a joy to encourage women to stand up and be true believers in Christ. It is a wonderful work. Which I am glad to be a part of. I write at http://disciplewalk.blogspot.com I hope you will come visit with me there. Blessings Melanie keck
