What does it take to write a great first post for Far Above Rubies? Agonizing over possible topics? Jotting notes on paper, cell phone memo app, and in a random Word document? Pray? Pray more? The answer to all of those questions is yes. Yes, I did all of that in the past two weeks as I readied myself for sharing my heart with you. I want it to be epic, of course!
I want to tell you all about myself and my family, my journey, my strengths and even my weaknesses, and all the things I have learned along the way.
But then I am reminded that none of this is about me. It is ALL about Him. The fact that I am here with you now is because of His calling--both for me and for Jasmine. It was just a few months ago that I began praying the prayer of Jabez, sincerely, asking the Lord to "enlarge my territory" in women's ministry! (1 Chronicles 4:10) I could not be more thankful to Him for answering that prayer with Far Above Rubies.
I do want you to know that my heart is first for the Lord. After Him, my heart is for my husband, my children, and my home. And after them, my heart is for women like you who are seeking the Lord with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind. I do not take this placement lightly. I am excited and also humbled.
As Jasmine and I work to complete the technical transfer of Far Above Rubies, I will post at least three times each week, and then I plan to post daily. I will write about Biblical womanhood, marriage, motherhood, homemaking, homeschooling, and anything else that the Lord tells me to share with you all. I will be following His lead.
For those of you who like to comment and/or contact me, please do so! I want to hear from you! I love feedback that helps me know what you need from me! The best ways to write to me is to email directly from the Far Above Rubies site, or to comment or send a message through Facebook.
To Jasmine--Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do to help me come on board. I do hope you will stick around in this community which you built!
To you, dear readers--Thank you for welcoming me! And thank you for sticking around Far Above Rubies through this transition! I have big shoes to fill here, and I pray that I grow into them quickly! I am praying for you, and I am so thankful that the Lord brought us together in this place!
