Domestically Divine Tuesday: Homemaking Link-Up and Cinnamon Cookies

I first tasted these cinnamon cookies at a friend's home. Eileen is on the GAPS program and was helpful in sharing recipes that did not call for white flour or sugar.

These cookies are sweet to the palate, soft to chew, and easy to digest. They are made with almond flour and sweetened with honey!

Tip: It may be easiest to have your butter at room temperature. Also, I like to swipe a small amount of butter inside my measuring cup before I add the honey, so it will pour smoothly without sticking.

Preheat your oven to 275 degrees F. Simply mix almond flour, honey, softened butter, cinnamon, sea salt, and baking soda.

Press them down on a buttered cookie sheet, sprinkle with extra cinnamon and bake at 275 degrees for 15 minutes! This recipe makes approximately 12 large cookies or 18 smaller ones.

Your children will love the sweetness of the honey verses the white sugar, and you will feel confident that they have enjoyed a wholesome treat!

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups of almond flour
  • 1/3 cup of honey
  • 4 Tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
Preparation:
  • Preheat oven to 275 degrees F.
  • Melt the butter.
  • Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Create small doughy balls with fingers and place on the baking sheet
  • Press each cookie with the back of fork and make criss-cross pattern. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  • Bake for 15 minutes total. Remove from the oven.
  • Cool for 10 minutes and move to plate!

I have revised this recipe, originally shared with me, from Comfy Belly!

Enjoy!

  1. Sharing a terrific way to use some of the abundance of zucchini from the garden as well as to satisfy a chocolate craving or sweet tooth with my chocolate zucchini muffins. Not too sweet, though as we only use 1/2 c. Rapadura sugar in these. Perfect for celebrating our first day of homeschooling today!

    Thanks for hosting! ~Lisa
