What does Jesus count as most important?...This. I live in this place, make breakfast, scrub toilets, change diapers, do laundry, give life, and for days, weeks, I am consistent.
I am brave and get out of bed. I surrender and pray for wisdom.
Boy transitioning into manhood is a gift that forces me to reflect. I'm impatient and lack the acuity of a graceful woman. Lord, help me.
My hands grow weary, but I see beauty in tired hands. They tell my story. Messed up, beautiful me.
I cringe and brace - I ask my children if our home looks:
- like a castle - no.
- like a tornado hit - no.
I'm not sure what to think, so I continue:
- neat and tidy - no.
- a place to relax - no.
I'm getting nervous...
- a beautiful mess - yes.
- us - yes.
- a place to have fun - yes.
- a collection of God's blessings - yes.
I breathe deep, like a vagabond, finding rest.
The windows of home burn bright.

DeleteI was getting nervous there for a minute...I think I will ask these questions from my own....should I or shouldn't I just after I got after my son for not getting with his chores in a timely manner....I might give him a little time before I go asking these questions of him (smile)
ReplyDeleteLet me know what he says, Marlece. (Smile)
