5 Sure Ways to Turn a Man Off

A beautiful woman who lacks discretion is like a gold ring in a pig's snout.
Proverbs 11:22

Discretion: carefulness, foresight, observant, prudent, wise, responsible, mature, diplomacy, sense.

  • You can be the most beautiful woman in the world, but the moment you open your mouth with sloppy words and present yourself a fool - you shame yourself, family, and God. Your very countenance changes from appealing to repulsive

Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge, but she that hateth reproof is brutish. Proverbs 12:1 - Brutish - sensual, beastly, masculine, carnal, brute, untamed.

  • It is a tremendous burden to deal with a woman who becomes emotionally unstable, untamed, wild, or overly sensitive when instructed or corrected. A husband should be able to speak to his wife regarding issues that need addressing without fear of outburst.

  • An insecure woman behaves in a manner that make most men feel uncomfortable. In many cases men will avoid such women making them feel even more unworthy. If the woman is married, her husband will eventually tire of trying to fix things so she can be happy. He will withdraw and abstain from spending time with her.

On a more practical level:

  • Body Odor will and can destroy a potential suitor. If married and you got your man sealed and delivered, smelling good is still essential. Put on some perfume and deodorant. It's good for your man to embrace something fine and feminine.

  • Bad Breath and Poor Hygiene can be distasteful. Keep yourself groomed. It doesn't have to be fancy. Maybe a little lipstick, brush and wash your hair, and keep a bottle of breath mints in your purse.

  3. Do you have advise for becoming a secure wife. I have a tendency to be insecure, but I bottle it up and not show it. :-/

    1. Our security comes from being in the Word of God and knowing, believing, and embracing who we are in Christ.

It's a process that requires a commitment to change the way we think about God, ourselves, and others.

How do we this? In short, by spending a lot of time retraining our minds with the Word of God. Memorize scripture dealing with Insecurity. Here are some that have helped me:

      Psalm 27:1
      psalm 91:1,4
      Proverbs 1:33
      Proverbs 14:26
      Proverbs 18:10
      Isaiah 41:10
      Isaiah 54:17
      Romans 8:28
      2 Cor. 12:9
      Phil 4:13
      Hebrews 13:6
      Romans 8:37-39

      Blessings,

      Psalm 107:20

  4. Jasmine,

I am speaking at a woman's retreat at the end of the month and talking about our security in Christ. I am adding these scriptures to my compilation/hand outs. Thank you!
