Now and Then

I took the opportunity to teach my children a lesson using photos sent to be by a friend.

School doesn't have to be this formal and rigid exercise. You can use anything to teach a child valuable lessons.

Since most children are visual, this lesson scored high in mommy points.

  • I shared how having less is more.
  • A simple life is pleasing unto God.
  • I spoke on the importance of spending time together as family doing creative and exciting things.
  • How having balance is essential to maintaining self-control and peace.
  • Respect for authority has declined drastically in the last five decades.
  • Creativity and child-like imagination has decreased considerably with increased technology and the fast paced lifestyle of our society.

What would you teach using these photos?

Have a blessed day building up your home.

  2. This is a great idea, Jasmine! Our times have changed for the worse in many ways. I want my girls to know how things were years ago. We don't have to conform to everything these modern times offer. Great post!!!

  5. These are so true. Especially the one with the child and teacher. It bothers me so much to see how there is no longer respect for authority. Great idea using these pictures to teach your children. A lot of good lessons hidden in them!

I just received this email yesterday too. Sadly, it is pretty true. Change is not always good.

  7. Fabulous! Thank you for sharing:)
I wonder what a third column would look like, inserted before the first...as in "Old, OLD Tymes"....with people telling stories, rather than watching them and men playing fiddles to entertain their wives and children, etc...
Can't wait to share your post with others today!

  8. We must look so ridiculous at times to the heavenly realm. We are so caught up in ourselves! This was a poignant reminder that we have to be vigilant to see that we are setting our families on a path in a better direction!
