12 Days of Blogging Community - Day 4

Lady Lydia has inspired my love for motherhood and homemaking in such a unique and challenging way. Her articles at Home Living are convicting, warm, and straight forward. I consider her my mentor and friend.

I contact Mrs. Sherman on occasion with questions regarding staying home to blogging. I respect her ability to blog with one purpose in mind: to teach women how to love and keep their homes. If you peruse her blog, you will note that she remains true to God and the Titus 2 mandate in all she writes and shares.

Ladies Against Feminism  is another wonderful website founded by Mrs. Lydia Sherman and Mrs. Jennie Chancey in 2002 as a way to publish thoughtful, biblical responses to feminism and to encourage other women in their God-given roles.

I recently turned to Mrs. Sherman when several of my friends were violated online. She graciously wrote an article to help women understand the pros and cons to blogging as well as sharing too much information online.

You can read about it here.

Here is one of my favorite quotes by Lady Lydia:

After Breakfast

I WORK FOR A KING

"I work for a King (Christ). He has put me in charge of His home. When He comes to see how I have managed His possessions and His children, I do not want to be found wanting. I want to do my best. Everything I have is on loan from Him.

I have room and board and a job to do, but it is all for Him. Therefore I want to dress my best and do my best in all my work. I also want to be creative, for this is a sincere attempt to glorify Him and His beautiful creation. How I manage my home is a form of worship to Him." --Lydia Sherman

  1. Now that quote should be written on every woman's wall. Inspiring and convicting...I will remember that...I sat up a little straighter reading it. :)

  3. Jasmine,

Mrs. Sherman is a mentor of mine as well, esp. in my early years of blogging and as a Christian wife and mother. Keep up the great work here!

  5. I hope people do not misunderstand my reference to the King, who is Christ, the one to whome we will all one day answer. Sometimes I get funny comments about this quote, because immature people just do not understand it and think I'm talking about a man.
